About the Artist: Dibyendu Ukil grew up on the banks of Ganga (Hoogli) in Kolkata. When he travelled to Varanasi, he was pleasantly surprised to find the familiarity of an environment back home. He travelled the length of Varanasi absorbing every sight and sound, connecting with every engrossed pilgrim and resident and engaging in every ritual there was. And his works are his reflections of his impressions of that Varanasi that took him home.
